What's HOT! The "What's Hot" section refers to the newest pieces that are just hot out of the kiln! The two pieces featured are called Positive and Negative landscapes. The two landscapes form a pair that came from the same original clay piece. They fit together, one being the exact opposite but complement of the other. They both have the same glazes, and the glazes are the newest and most spectacular iridescent red colors, so far. Other What's Hot pieces are "Mobile Landscapes" and "Childs Landscapes". The " Mobile Landscapes" are landscapes on wheels, an oxymoron, or contradiction in terms, since landscapes do not move around! "Child's Landscapes" are made up of things that kids love like baseball gloves and balls, all redone in clay with ceramic lustre glazes. This new sculpture has lost it old function, and is reinterpreted in its new one as being a piece of fine art. The piece featured on the "Home Page" section is a Vertical Landscape. I had made so many horizontal landscapes that I felt it would be a great challenge to create vertical ones! Vertical landscapes are designed to be seen in groups of two or three. The pieces subtly relate to each other, coming from the same palette of colors and the same vocabulary of forms.
