Sculpture
The cast metal
sculptures seemed so rigid, so fixed in space. Some of them wanted
to move around. I wanted to do something new, a sculpture that
would interact with the viewer. The answer was an involvement
with interactive sculpture.
Each interactive
piece responded to the viewer in one way or another. Each sculpture
was also a commentary on some cultural theme, like love, war,
and the environment. Some of the pieces were very sensual; they
changed or moved when they were touched, talked to, or just approached.
The war related pieces commented on the Viet Nam war. The environmental
pieces utilized wildlife to create a setting that startled the
viewer, while also commenting on the war.
