History

My first memory of being aware of the elements of art, and its connections to beauty, to technology, and to the environment, occurred when as a young child I locked myself in the family bathroom, to mix up a beautiful concoction of soap, after shave lotion, deodorant and other toiletries to make an anti-gravity cream, to better see the world from above.

Since that time my art has evolved through many searches and technologies, and I have lived each endeavor with a consuming passion. Each stage of my artwork, has sustained me for a period of ten to fifteen years. Each has required the research and application of a new technology, and a process to integrate it into conceptual, harmoniously beautiful art.

Yet throughout this search, I prefer to see myself as a "dilettante". A word which derived from the Old French meaning "influenced by light", and from the Middle English word meaning "delight". It also currently means one who is an amateur, and therefore one who is not expected to know the "rules" or to follow them. This mindset gives me an intellectual freedom that may, at times, go against the grain of contemporary art.
